Douglas Flemons, Ph.D., LMFT

I am Co-Director of Context Consultants, as well as Professor Emeritus of Family Therapy and Former Co-Director of the Office of Suicide and Violence Prevention at Nova Southeastern University. I’m also a Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

For over 30 years, my commitment to making a difference in clients’ lives has inspired my learning and my therapeutic orientation, as well as my writing, teaching, supervising, and mentoring. I’ve written books on hypnosis, therapy, and suicide assessment, and Shelley and I have co-edited three editions of a book on brief sex therapy. We relocated to Asheville, NC in 2020, which has allowed me to focus on clinical work and writing projects. I’m currently completing a book (to be published by APA) on empathy.

Shelley Green, Ph.D., LMFT

I am Co-Director of Context Consultants, as well as Professor Emeritus of Family Therapy and Founding Director of Equine Assisted Family Therapy at Nova Southeastern University. A Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), I am coeditor (with Douglas) of Quickies: The Handbook of Brief Sex Therapy and author of numerous articles in the areas of sexuality, equine assisted psychotherapy, and clinical training and supervision.

For the the last 10 years at NSU, I concentrated on equine-related clinical work, research and writing projects. Now, having relocated to Asheville, I’m no longer offering equine-assisted therapy, but I continue to enjoy all things horse-related on a daily basis. Everything I’ve learned from my personal and therapeutic involvement with horses has found its way into my work with couples and individuals.
